Again with the red-baiting
by May Digman Sunday, Apr. 11, 2004 at 10:46 AM

The allegations of NSA adviser Norberto Gonzales is a desperate move of a very desperate man.

Again with the red-baiting

The recent allegation made by National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales, with assent from his patron President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, that Bayan Muna, Anakpawis, Gabriela, Anak ng Bayan, Migrante and Suara Bangsamoro are CPP "front organizations" is really a desperate move of a very desperate man. It just seeks to demonize these progressive party-list groups to prevent them from entering congress as real representatives of the people unlike his pathetic PDSP or other pseudo-progressives.

If he really has hard evidence, then where is it? All he did was to churn out press releases and malign our good name. Yet, he is not even worthy of the position he now holds. Talk about political accommodation.

For the record, Anakpawis and all its sister parties are legitimate and legal party-list organizations, which were formed to represent the marginalized in Congress, if unscrupulous people like Gonzales say otherwise present your evidence and see you in court.

What's wrong with the CPP?
by Californian Wednesday, Apr. 14, 2004 at 6:30 AM

I don't know a lot about political grouops in the Philippines, but I presume that CPP is the Communist Party of the Philippines.

What's wrong with being associated with that party? They're probably, whatever faults they may have, a lot better than any of the parties in the present or past governments!

What's wrong

The problem is that the CPP is an underground political party waging armed struggle. Implicating legal political parties with armed guerilla groups is a move to discredit them. Bayan Muna and the other parties are asserting their right to join the elections as legal and legitimate political groups representing the poor and marginalized.

the root of sectarianism
by Crisandino Saturday, Apr. 17, 2004 at 8:21 AM

I was a full-time member of the CPP for more than 10 years. I resigned when the Stalinist regimes of Eastern Europe fell one after another, after Beijing massacre and during OPML. I know their beliefs and how they operate.

Those who belong to the so-called National Democratic axis, whether aboveground or otherwise are sectarian because they are still aiming for a one-party dictatorship ruling in the name of the “proletariat”. Once they achieve total victory, they will impose the totalitarian rule of the CPP. It could be a nominal “multi-party” system just like in China with the CCP having small allied parties but its dominant rule is unquestionable. This is the same system employed in Saddam Hussein’s Iraq.

In the Philippines, there could be six or more satellite parties but only one leading Party – the CPP. Six little piglets but only one big bad wolf. They could “ally” themselves with one another or otherwise with liberal bourgeoisie or even with trapos as long as they have use for them (dividing the ruling class). However they will not work with other left or left-of-center parties as they pose an alternative to their dictatorial model.

They call themselves Marxists but never learned from recent history – Stalinism will never bring true and liberating socialism.

It seems IMC-QC is also within this axis.
