DECLARATION OF UNITY

We are concerned citizenswomen, educators, artists, church leaders and workers, students calling for the immediate pullout of Napoleon Quince Anyos "Nakatikim ka na ba ng kinse anyos?" advertisements.

We find the brandys catchphrase insensitive, offensive and degrading, inimical to the well-being of Filipino women and children.

We believe that the advertisements catch phrase promotes and perpetuates a culture that glorifies men that are able to sample, taste or hitch younger women or worse, girls. By doing so increases the vulnerability of women and children to violence. To put it bluntly, the advertisements message encourages pedophilia.

We condemn Destileria Limtuacos continued use of this degrading statement to promote their products and amass profits at the expense of the safety and security of women and girls.

We condemn Destileria Limtuacos adamant refusal to pullout the advertisements in the spirit of self-regulation and social responsibility. We condemn their moves to harass and pursue legal charges against those who have called the attention of regulating bodies and the general public to their iresponsible advertising.

We affirm today our commitment to uphold the rights and welfare of women and children.

We call for the nationwide boycott of Destileria Limtuacos Napoleon Quince until such time that all of their offensive billboards and advertisements have been pulled out.
